ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/RECEPTION Cobalt is seeking an energetic and friendly individual to work the front desk of our Whitehorse office. As we gear up for a busy season, we need someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to learn new things. Long term staff are offered career development catered to their skills and interests. We want you to be engaged in what you do and will gladly support your continued learning and skill development. We have a tight knit office crew that works together so would like to find someone who is a team player but is also able to work on their own.
You do not need construction experience to work with us! We’ll teach you anything you need to know about the industry. Any experience in accounting courses or previous work is highly beneficial but not required.
Successful applicants will have:
*Valid Class 5 driver’s license *Own transportation to and from work *Reception experience or equivalent job experience *Time management skills
Successful applicants will be:
*Reliable *Organized *Able to work with little supervision *Familiar with basic office programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe etc. *Able to work 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
Successful applicants will be expected to:
*Act as main Administrative Assistant for the office *Maintain reception area *Answering incoming calls and direct them accordingly *Greet visitors and direct them accordingly (currently visitors are not permitted to enter the building and asked to call the office line instead during the Covid 19 pandemic) *Assist in filing for accounting, payroll and human resource teams - this may include data entry *You may be asked to run errands such as picking up parts or supplies when we are in a pinch
Please note that due to the Covid 19 Pandemic ALL out of territory workers MUST quarantine for a full two weeks before work can commence and enhanced safety protocols in place on all job sites to manage risks are considered mandatory for all staff members!
HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC Successful applicants may be journeymen or apprentices with experience in newer heavy equipment and all aspects of Earth moving equipment and tractor trailers
SERVICEMEN Successful applicants will have own tools and experience servicing all types of off highway equipment
PILOT TRUCK DRIVER both for guiding trucks hauling heavy equipment and for safely leading traffic through a construction zone. Applicants must have a valid class 5 driver’s license. Previous Experience is an asset
OFA 3 Applicants must have a valid Occupational First Aid ticket (or higher) that does not expire through the 2020 work season. Preferential hiring is offered to those who also have a valid Traffic Control person ticket. Experience working in remote settings is an asset
COOKS AND CLEANERS Experience cooking for and maintaining a 40+man camp is an asset. Applicants must be comfortable living/working remotely. Must be able to organize supplies, ordering, create menus, prepare food to all health standards and organize camp cleaning and maintenance
CONSTRUCTION LABOURERS Previous experience is an asset but not required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 70lbs, be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, capable of working as a team and on their own, be comfortable living and working remotely
CLASS 1 DRIVERS Seeking primarily low bed drivers, applicants must have valid Class 1 license with air brakes endorsement and experience hauling heavy equipment. Applicants will be subjected to pre-employment safety screening
HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS Experience in road construction and open pit mining is required. Minimum 5 years’ experience on any of the following: Hoe, Dozer, Grader, Buggy Skinners and Rock Truck. Must be able to pass a pre-access drug test in order to qualify for camp work
TRAFFIC CONTROL PERSONNEL Must provide valid TCP certification that does not expire through the 2020 work season. Must be comfortable with standing outside for full shifts every day, be prepared for weather of all types and comfortable living in a remote location
